Organic Chemistry Success Workshop Series
The Organic Chemistry Success Workshop Series is a 4-week program designed to help students build the foundation needed to succeed in Organic Chemistry I. Through 8 live online sessions, students will learn proven study strategies, core concepts, and problem-solving techniques that can make the transition into organic chemistry less overwhelming and more manageable.
This workshop series focuses on understanding how to learn organic chemistry effectively—not memorizing hundreds of reactions. Students will develop confidence with functional groups, reaction patterns, mechanisms, and the study habits used by successful science students.
Course Schedule
Tuesdays and Thursdays
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM (EST)
July 14, 2026 – August 6, 2026
Live via Zoom
What You'll Learn
Week 1: The Foundation of Organic Chemistry
Build the fundamental knowledge needed for success by reviewing bonding, molecular structure, electron behavior, and the study strategies that make organic chemistry easier to understand.
Week 2: The Language of Organic Chemistry
Learn how to identify and interpret functional groups, understand nomenclature, and develop the vocabulary necessary to navigate Organic Chemistry I confidently.
Week 3: Thinking Critically in Organic Chemistry
Develop problem-solving skills through resonance, acids and bases, electron flow, and introductory mechanism concepts. Learn how to approach complex problems.
Week 4: Preparing for Success This Semester
Bring everything together by exploring reaction patterns, creating a personalized study plan, and learning strategies for preparing for exams and staying ahead throughout the semester.
